Karen has spent her life in higher education to change lives and create social mobility for graduates. She served in progressive positions at CW including 17 years as President when CW gained regional accreditation and bachelor degree granting status. In March of 2021 Karen founded Catie’s Cause, named for her daughter. Catie lost her life at 20 years old due to acute liver failure as a result of acetaminophen (Tylenol) poisoning. Catie’s Cause brings awareness to the dangers of everyday acetaminophen use. Karen and her husband Dale are also proud parents of Stephanie, a college junior.
