This course is designed to give students an understanding in the basic skills and techniques necessary to maintain high voltage equipment and protective systems for the electric utility transmission system. Students will be trained in the operation and maintenance of associated transmission infrastructure and substation procedure. Graduates will qualify for entry-level employment in the energy sector. Employment opportunities include substation technicians, control systems, instrumentation and control in general industry, electric industry, green energy markets or positions with equipment related to power transmission.
