Top Competencies/Learning Outcomes

Participants will complete Ford Automotive Career Exploration (ACE) automotive technician skill basics taught by a certified Ford ACE instructor. Participants will learn about career opportunities within the automotive industry as well as the Ford ASSET and automotive technology degree programs.

Outcomes: (1) Demonstrate safe work habits while servicing automobiles , (2) Perform multipoint vehicle inspection and communicate results and recommendations, and (3) Perform oil changes and tire rotations Skills: Vehicle inspection and maintenance, basic tire and wheel safety, and engine fundamentals. Automotive shop safety, brake system fundamentals, HVAC fundamentals, and electrical/electronic fundamentals. General maintenance information, and steering and suspension fundamentals.
